GUEST POST BY ZACH PETTET
#OneDayKC is the entrepreneurially minded student’s chance to solve the problems of the city and have their voices heard.
At this intensive, daylong event, participants will enter with a set of challenges and leave with a clear outline for a startup company.
We have collaborated with innovators and influencers around Kansas City to identify a set of city-wide problems that can best be solved with innovation and fresh, young eyes. The problems we will tackle are pretty hush-hush right now, but if accepted to the program you will be informed ahead of time and given all the tools necessary for success.
Kansas City is becoming an innovation mecca, but sometimes we forget about the students. This is the “little guy’s” chance to work through challenging and exciting problems while leveraging the City’s new assets. Join the fun as we travel through the ideation process, starting at UMKC, and ending at the Chamber of Commerce Board Room in Union Station, with even more exciting stops in between.
At the end of the challenge, a winner will be chosen and invited to develop the technology side of their idea at GigHacks KC, a national hackathon hosted by KC Digital Drive at the Google Fiber Space the weekend of May 1-3. (More info about the hackathon.)
