In today’s dynamic health environment, safety net care providers continue to distinguish themselves by the quality and breadth of their services to people who otherwise might not receive attention. Still, they face enormous challenges, usually with very meager means, and know that there still are many more people they would like to reach. Technology can be seen as a powerful enabler, enhancer and extender of knowledge and good practice, but to what degree is technology helping safety net providers and those they serve? How can it serve them further?

Our panelists have some grounding in technology, but their roles are focused on the strategic delivery of the health services their organizations provide. The evening’s agenda has been set to acknowledge the presence, contributions, needs and objectives of such organizations across the KC community. In so doing, we expect that added exposure and a “real world” view will raise new ideas and prospective partners that  KC Digital Drive can engage for collaborative, tangible, context-based, projects in support of safety net providers.  Most immediately, we will:

  • Open up a greater view of safety nets working in the community;
  • Ask representative service delivery strategists to speak about specific challenges they encounter in their mission and in setting priorities which involve digital technologies, particularly in support of outreach;
  • Discuss the level of collaboration they leverage today and additional collaboration that would be helpful in their respective missions.
