The Kansas City Coalition for Digital Inclusion (KCCDI) is an open, collaborative group of organizations who foster digital equity and access to technology for Kansas City metro communities. KCCDI meets monthly on the first Friday of every month to hear about the work of local digital inclusion practitioners, and share information about upcoming opportunities in the digital inclusion space.

FEATURED CONTENT

Beyond Digital Literacy — Middle Skills Training. While it is important to ensure everyone has the basic digital skills needed to use a computer and access the internet, there are a wide range of “middle skills” jobs that offer a family-supporting income. KC-area organizations are providing free short-term training opportunities that prepare people for these careers. Panelists will discuss their programs that offer the ability to learn more advanced digital skills and provide pathways to these better-paying jobs.

Confirmed Panelists:

  • Karen Altenhofen — Director of Workforce Development, MoKan Goodwill [Moderator]
  • Ron Green — Executive Director, digiSTORY KC
  • Cedric Deadmon — Managing Director, Per Scholas
  • Christina Zarate — Manager, Recruitment & Admissions, Per Scholas
