Gus will serve as the Digital Inclusion Coordinator, and with his previous experience in internet services and streaming from Marksman Solutions, and event management at Maritz, Gus will contribute valuable insights to KC Digital Drive’s  mission. His strong local roots and commitment to community service will support efforts to enhance digital inclusion in the Kansas City area.

Q: What are some of your values and how do you plan on using them in the next year?

I believe hard work is essential for achieving goals, and that collaboration and networking are vital for developing strong communities. Additionally, integrity is my guiding principle, shaping my personal and professional choices. As the Digital Inclusion Coordinator, I’m eager to listen and learn from seasoned experts to develop my own skills. I’m passionate about contributing to our mission of digital inclusion and making a meaningful impact in the community. I look forward to growing alongside others who share this vision.

Q: Why is now the time for you to go into public service?

After traveling extensively with my previous employer, I came to understand the immense potential for positive change in the Kansas City area. This experience ignited a passion within me to contribute locally, particularly through the lens of digital equity. I truly believe that by focusing on this crucial issue, we can achieve remarkable outcomes at KC Digital Drive and make a lasting impact in our community. Together, we have the opportunity to bridge gaps, empower individuals, and foster a more inclusive digital landscape for everyone in Kansas City.

Q: What are some of your personal goals in the next year and what drives you to accomplish them?

I want to enhance my ability to perform at a high level. I recognize that there’s much I can do to improve, and I believe that success will naturally boost my confidence. In addition, I aspire to become a better public speaker. Improving my speaking skills will help create opportunities for civic engagement, foster personal growth, and sharpen my critical thinking abilities. Moreover, I’m eager to deepen my connection with the community that helped shape me. I want to volunteer, engage with local stakeholders, and explore potential projects that could positively impact our community.
