Join us to talk about your triumphs and challenges with your fellow digital inclusion trainers in the Kansas City metro at these monthly Digital Inclusion Learning Circle meetings. We’ll spend the time getting to know one another and sharing about our work.
For our meeting this month, we will participate in a presentation and discussion with Pam Rooks from Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas around “gap informed” digital curricula. She will share her experience working with individuals coming to this country for the first time who have been systematically excluded from formal education and, as such, may have several unexpected knowledge gaps that interfere with their ability to learn in a traditional computer basics class.
Feel free to invite your fellow digital skills training staff, whether they focus on it exclusively or include it as part of their job duties. At each meeting we make time to meet the other instructors, foster collaboration, and hold a discussion space.
We will have a hybrid option in case you need to join virtually, but participating in person is preferred. KC Digital Drive is located at the LAMP Campus on Linwood and Highway 71 (1801 Linwood Blvd). Park in the lot on Woodland, walk past the community garden and enter through the door facing Linwood.
If you would like to be added to the Learning Circle calendar invite, just email Leah Henriksen at lhenriksen @ kcdigitaldrive dot org. We hope to see you there!
