Is it possible to transform health care from a cottage industry rife with variation in processes into a smoothly operating factory of care? What are the impediments to success and how do we begin to overcome them? What price do we pay, as patients and payers, relative to the effectiveness, efficiency and safety of our care by allowing this variation to persist? What role do consumers play in catalyzing change? What role to physicians, hospitals, governmental agencies, and other parties play?
These are some of questions that John Leifer, health care consultant and author, will explore with us during his presentation.
The fourth in KC Digital Drive’s Digital Health Innovation Forum series will bring unique insights from industry insiders to bear on questions facing healthcare innovators. The event will also feature presentations by local projects in the field of digital health. Read about previous forums on our blog: DHIF1 (Fitnet, BCBS), DHIF2 (Kauffman, WellToDo, MySmartVisit), DHIF3 (CERT at Mizzou)
