We have a special meeting lined up this month. We are looking specifically at the health foundations serving the Kansas City area. Their role has had a powerful impact on our region and will continue to do so. KC Digital Drive is grateful to have received support from all three foundations in our work to advance equity, connectedness, and innovation in health.

Based on this support, we have invited each foundation to speak briefly about its background and current priorities and strategies, then to give us some reflection of their views toward innovation, generally, and more specifically the role they see for technology in the programs they support.

Our presenters will be:

  • Carla Gibson, Vice President of Programs, REACH Healthcare Foundation
  • McClain Bryant Macklin, Director of Policy and Strategic Initiatives, Health Forward Foundation
  • Brad Hart, Impact Strategist, Health Forward Foundation
  • Chan Brown, Program Officer. Kansas Health Foundation

Given the roles these foundations have played in our area, we are looking forward to a very engaging discussion.

Every month, we bring together a group of health care stakeholders to learn and share about technology and innovation projects happening in the region–and occasionally related topics from outside the Greater Kansas City area. Our stakeholders include hospitals and the health care system, city and state government officials, health IT firms and other corporate partners, startups working in health and wellness, and other civic organizations. The meetings are open, though not widely broadcast. They generally happen on the last Wednesday of the month, 8:30-10:00 am at Mid-America Regional Council (MARC).
