As per our usual method, we are combining the November and December Health Innovation Team meetings to accommodate the holidays.

In this December 8th meeting, we will look at a long-term successful project in the KC area and a new company striving to personalize the provider experience.

Our first presentation will be from Children’s Mercy Hospital regarding their Cardiac High Acuity Monitoring Program (CHAMP). This specialized home monitoring solution has driven remarkable outcomes for medically fragile babies and earned a 2017 Microsoft Health Innovation Award.

Our presenter for this amazing work will be Lori Erickson, PhD, RN, MSN, CPNP-PC, Director of Remote Health Solutions, Strategic Planning and Nurse Practitioner, Ward Family Heart Center CHAMP team.

In our second presentation, we will hear from MD Matchup, a start up in the Kansas City area dedicated to personalizing the primary care experience by surveying patients and recommending providers that best match their personality and needs.

Our presenter will be Bob Waddell, Co-Founder and Vice President of MD Matchup.

Every month, we bring together a group of health care stakeholders to learn and share about technology and innovation projects happening in the region–and occasionally related topics from outside the Greater Kansas City area. Our stakeholders include hospitals and the health care system, city and state government officials, health IT firms and other corporate partners, startups working in health and wellness, and other civic organizations. The meetings are open, though not widely broadcast. They generally happen on the last Wednesday of the month, 8:30-10:00 am at Mid-America Regional Council (MARC).
