For September, we will be engaging two very different topics.
First, we will hear from the University of Kansas Health System on how they quickly ramped up telehealth visits last year to deal with the pandemic, what was accomplished, and the degree to which this changed practices for the Health System. This will include a current view of telehealth in the KU context and the view forward.
Our presenters will be Steve Kropp, Director of Telehealth, and Denton Shanks, D.O., M.P.H., Medical Director of Telehealth.
In our second presentation, we will look at another solution from the Techstars Kansas City Accelerator. Gradient Health supplies an artificial intelligence platform for medical imaging diagnostics, including the necessary infrastructure and computer vision models for hospitals, researchers, and contract research organizations (CROs) to be part of the $20B+ future. Though not based in Kansas City, their attraction to the Techstars’ KC accelerator included the proliferation of CROs in the area. Co-founder Josh Miller will be our presenter.
In other notes, the fundraiser by the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) in honor of KC Digital Drive has been transformed into an online event. Rather than a date of September 14, the event will be a noon-time webinar on September 21 entitled: “KC Digital Drive: Using Technology, Data, and Innovation to Improve Health Outcomes”. The webinar is free, but registration is required: https://www.himss.org/events/kc-digital-drive-webinar Please join us!
