The Kansas City Coalition for Digital Inclusion (KCCDI) is an open, collaborative group of organizations who foster digital equity and access to technology for Kansas City metro communities. KCCDI meets monthly on the first Friday of every month to hear about the work of local digital inclusion practitioners, and share information about upcoming opportunities in the digital inclusion space.
FEATURED CONTENT
This month’s meeting will feature a conversation about the potential of Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) networks to address the digital divide by providing a wireless connectivity solution for residents. The meeting will feature an introduction to the technology by Denise Riedl, Madi Rogers, and Patrick McGuire, who will then describe how they have utilized it in the city of South Bend, Indiana. Then, Tom Esselman will discuss how PCs for People have leveraged CBRS in KC, Cleveland, Austin, and elsewhere.
NEXT MEETING
Our June meeting will take place at the Mid-America Regional Council office, 600 Broadway, Kansas City, Mo. We’ve shifted this year to two virtual meetings and one in person each quarter. This Coalition meeting will again be hosted by the Missouri Office of Broadband Development as a follow-up public informational meeting in support of the Connecting All Missourians initiative. We are also starting a bit early to allow more time for discussion. The meeting is scheduled from 10-noon. You can register on EventBrite here.
