Our Health Jackson County is a large scale community initiative led by the Health Equity Institute at the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC) set out to bring health services directly into communities, reaching residents where they live, work, play, and worship.
Code for KC is supporting the design and development of a website that puts links to city council meetings and other local government business in one place, creating an easy resource designed for reporters and local media outlets who cover local government, in order to make their jobs easier and keep the public better informed.
Building on the success of our Kansas expungement tool, Clear My Record – KS aims to broaden access to legal assistance for underserved Kansans. Through innovative tools and platforms, this initiative will simplify complex legal processes, making it easier for individuals to navigate challenges like expungement, guardianship, and conservatorship.
KC Digital Drive traveled to Hilton Head, SC to attend the Palmetto Care Connections Telehealth conference and host a Digital Divide Simulation during the first session for participants and staff. Palmetto Care Connections is a non-profit organization that brings technology, broadband, and telehealth solutions to health care providers in rural and underserved areas in South Carolina.
KC Digital Drive created the “Digital Inclusion Learning Circle” at the end of 2023 and has continued to engage with digital skills trainers and digital navigators to enrich the ecosystem, create space for information-sharing and presenting, as well as foster collaboration among organizations and across state lines.
